Strengths: Ultra protable, very light, Good specs for the price (1G ram, 120gb hard disk)
Weaknesses:Battery lasts only for 2 hours. Wifi connection not reliable.
Overall Evaluation: This net book suits my need as i use it mainly for browsing and as an organiser. Furthermore it has adequate specs to run Photoshop (although not advisable given the screen size) however it has a vga port so you can attach a monitor or a projector. Movies run very smoothly and pictures are crystal clear. The keyboard is pretty good and although it is smaller than that of bigger notebooks its large enough for fluent typing by an adult. The wifi connection is not adequate and often gets disconnected and would not connect again unless you restart the laptop. I had to buy a Wi-fi dongle to solve the matter This does not bother me that much as although it takes up one usb port you still have other two available. (i saw other reviews with people having the same problem). The touch pad is not working after a month.I did not bother to take it to the shop as i hardly ever use it (even before it stopped working) I think this is the best netbook overall when considering both quality and price. Of course you cannot compare it to bigger notebooks with higer performance which i think are better built

Strengths: weight, size, boot up time, large HDD compared to the small SSDs found in previous models, plenty of RAM for the average web surfer, battery life (~5-6 hours, depending on usage)
Weaknesses:upgrading components is not for the inexperienced
Overall Evaluation: I stumbled across this product several weeks ago and was intrigued, so I did my homework on it before I purchased one. It's typically advertised as a netbook, not a full blown notebook. Therefore, it has a smaller screen, lacks an optical drive and (often) comes with a small SSD drive up to about 16gb.. I waited until this unit was available in the larger 160gb HDD in the A150-1447 model. This upgrade from previous versions also included a 6 cell battery instead of the 3 cell, and 1gb DDR2 PC 4200 SODIMM RAM. I compared it to every other netbook size notebook model on the market that I could come across, and finally I chose this one because of it's great features, specs, and price (just under $400). With that in mind, I would not recommend purchasing this computer as a primary desktop replacement. However, it does make for an excellent throw-in-the-bag-and-go laptop for basic needs. For my purposes, I often have to run demanding graphical programs such as Photoshop, etc. I chose to upgrade the RAM to 1.5gb (maxed out). Although there is an improvement in processing speed (I can successfully run Photoshop, browse the internet, and listen to music for about 4 hours straight on a single battery charge), the installation of additional RAM is not for the inexperienced. It requires a complete disassembly, including keyboard, upper casing, WiFi, and mother- and daughter-boards to access the RAM slot (and HDD, if you choose to upgrade that to a larger gb replacement). That being said, an upgrade is often not necessary if the product is only used for web surfing and word processing-type applications, But it is indeed possible, with a bit of tutorial-searching and patience. Overall, EXCELLENT buy. I'd recommend one to anyone that asked.

Strengths: small and light computer
Weaknesses:sub-standard parts and service
Overall Evaluation: I bought an Acer Aspire One (AAO) this fall and within weeks the screen blacked out upon booting. Rather than replacing my AAO , Acer referred me to a technical repair depot. After 6 weeks still no word - then two weeks ago after calling Acer they said they would send me a new one on ?back-order? - still no sight of it. Today when i called they said they have no idea when the ?back-order? will be filled. Just wonderful customer support - not! Wish i had bought a MacBook now?..
